Subsidized the publication of a booklet Socially Engaged Art Idea Marathon 2015 published by the Art & Society Research Center.
JCRI subsidized the publication and the English translation of the text included in the Socially Engaged Art Idea Marathon. The booklet is a record of a namesake competition organized by the Art & Society Research Center. Socially Engaged Art is a collective term for the activities of artists who are involved in society and try to change people's daily lives. It is a new form of expression that tries to change actual politics and society, such as welfare, education, the environment, human rights, and politics, through the expressions of art, theater, music, performance, and so forth. In the “SEA Idea Marathon,” fourteen entries were announced, and two projects were selected as runner-up. After the event, the booklet that includes presentations and reviews of each project were published, and some of the texts were translated into English. The booklet provides a unique opportunity to introduce Japan's Socially Engaged Art both in Japan and abroad.
